20th Century Studios.

20th Century Studios has released the first official trailer for Alien: Romulus, the latest film in the iconic franchise.

Alien: Romulus will be the first entry in the Alien series since 2017’s Alien: Covenant, which was helmed by Ridley Scott.

Check out the official synopsis and trailer for Alien: Romulus, the seventh film in the iconic Alien franchise below.

“The sci-fi/horror-thriller takes the phenomenally successful Alien franchise back to its roots: While scavenging the deep ends of a derelict space station, a group of young space colonizers come face to face with the most terrifying life form in the universe.”

Previous entries in the Alien franchise are Alien (1979), Aliens (1986), Alien 3 (1992), Alien Resurrection (1997), Prometheus (2012), and Alien: Covenant (2017).

Directed by Fede Alvarez (Evil Dead, Don’t Breathe), Alien: Romulus stars rising actress Cailee Spaeny — known for her recent roles in Priscilla and Civil War — David Jonsson, Archie Renaux, Isabela Merced, Spike Fearn, and Aileen Wu.

Alien: Romulus will be released in movie theaters in the United States on Friday, August 16. You can check out the teaser that was released earlier this year below.
