Play makes a play for Portugal | Aviation

The low cost carrier confirmed it will commence operations between Reykjavik and Faro from April 12th, 2025. In accordance with the press release, PLAY will offer this route during high season, scheduling its last flight on October 29th, 2025.

PLAY airlines will have two weekly services using Airbus A320neo aircraft, which are configured for 174/180 passengers in single class. With this schedule, the airline plans to operate 58 flights during the six and a half months, for a total of almost 11,000 seats per way.

Faro will become PLAY’s fourth destination in Portugal after Lisbon and Porto, offering two operations a week to/from Reykjavik in each. Madeira will enter the company’s regular schedule in October, as will Marrakech, thus launching its services to Africa.

Faro will not be PLAY airlines’ only new destination.
