American Airlines to launch five new routes to Italy, Greece, Spain, and Scotland while also bringing back some old flights, starting in summer 2025.
The airline revealed its expansion plans on September 5, 2024, claiming that it will offer more than 70 daily departures to more than 20 trans-Atlantic destinations in summer 2025.
“We look forward to providing customers with more ways to visit their favorite destinations in Europe next summer,” Brian Znotins, American’s Senior Vice President of Network and Schedule Planning, said in a press release.
Starting from May 23, 2025, American will expand its schedule to Italy with a new daily service between Philadelphia (PHL) and Milan (MXP). The service will be operated by Boeing 787-8 aircraft.
Starting from July 5, 2025, the carrier will launch one more new daily service to Italy, connecting Miami (MIA) with Rome (FCO). American will serve FCO from six US airports in 2025 – more than any other US airline.
Beginning from June 5, 2025, the carrier will offer flights from Charlotte, North Carolina (CLT) to Athens, Greece (ATH). The new service will be operated by Boeing 777-200 aircraft.
Additionally, American will begin service between Chicago (ORD) and Madrid, Spain (MAD), starting from March 30, 2025. Beginning on May 23, 2025, the carrier will launch daily flights from PHL to Edinburgh, Scotland…
