A pilot, a co-pilot, a paramedic and a doctor were all killed after a Jet Rescue air ambulance crashed in the Mexican state of Morelos on November 1, 2023.
Preliminary reports say that the Learjet 35A crashed on landing at General Mariano Matamoros Airport in Cuernavaca (CVJ) in southern Mexico, about 48 kilometers south of Mexico City.
The aircraft had departed from Iguala, approximately 103 kilometers from Cuernavaca.
The Learjet 35A was part of a fleet operated by XÉ Médica Ambulancias, who confirmed the tragedy and lamented the death of all four people onboard the aircraft.
The victims have been identified as the pilot, Gerardo Álvarez; the co-pilot, Roberto Manzano; Dr. Lilian Reséndiz; and paramedic, Mario León.
The US First Responders Association (USFRA) has also offered condolences on social media platform X.
According to the USFRA, the first arriving fire and emergency medical services crew were from Temixco, who initially confirmed two fatalities, before adjusting the number to four at the accident site.
